Surgical treatment for Idiopathic scoliosis
The most common form of spinal deformity is idiopathic
scoliosis, a spinal curvature in the coronal plane occurring
in normal healthy patients. No known etiology exists except
a familial predisposition. There is no evidence of an
underlying neurologic or muscular disorder and there are
no congenital vertebral anomalies. The Scoliosis Research
Society classifies idiopathic scoliosis based on the age when
the curvature develops. There are three categories
